Spotlight: Toronto Blue Jays Jays Care Community Clubhouse

Nestled in the basement of Ronald McDonald House Toronto, the Jays Care Community Clubhouse, funded by the Toronto Blue Jays through Jays Care Foundation, provides seriously ill children, their siblings, parents and family members a place to escape and play after a long stressful day at the hospital.

Decked out in Blue Jays blue and white with inspiring words and shadow boxes showcasing Blue Jays memorabilia on the walls, and outfitted with a large gym floor and seating area, this fully-accessible Clubhouse encourages families to relax and enjoy time together.

With ample space, the Clubhouse is routinely used for the delivery of House programs for families. It frequently serves as an indoor recess venue for children attending the Ronald McDonald House Toronto School, and also provides the backdrop for concerts and larger gatherings.

Access to a safe, contained indoor area is critically important for families as many of the children at the House have compromised immune systems and are unable to play in outdoor public spaces.
