Jennifer & Brent's story
Jennifer and Brent knew their twin babies would need to spend time in the hospital after their birth. What they didn’t know is when the babies would arrive and how long they would need to stay in the hospital.
What circumstance brought your family to the RMH Toronto Family Room at Markham Stouffville Hospital? Our twin boys (Jase and Ryland) were born at 36 weeks so they needed to be in neo-natal intensive care unit (NICU) for a few days.
What was your children’s medical diagnosis? They were born premature.
What would you have done without the Ronald McDonald House Toronto Family Room? I would say not be as relaxed and would have to be stuck in the hospital room.
What surprised you most about the RMH Toronto Family Room? How big it was, accommodating and all the amenities in it.
What kind of impact did your children’s diagnosis have on your family? It was emotional to an extent but we knew that they would be in NICU for a few days at least.
What did you enjoy most about your stay in the RMH Toronto Family Room? Just being able to relax in a setting other than a hospital room. It was great to have a place for us and our family to come and relax.
What would you like to say to those individuals and companies who donate funds to keep the RMh Toronto Family Room open and operating? Thank you for your time and donations.
